Syria, Italy to enhance cooperation in the field of reconstruction

Chairman of the Planning and International Cooperation Commission Musab Badawi today discussed with the Chargé d’Affaires of the Italian Embassy in Syria Stefano Ravagnan means to enhance cooperation between the two countries in the economic and development fields.

During the meeting, priorities of work in the next stage were studied, including in the fields of agriculture, electricity, health and education. The two sides also discussed the renewal of joint agreements, in line with the next stage.

Chairman of the Planning Commission stressed during the meeting the importance of enhancing cooperation between the two countries in various fields, and benefiting from the expertise of Italian agencies in the reconstruction phase.

For his part, Ravagnan pointed out that Italy is working to lift sanctions imposed on Syria in all fields, which contributes to rebuilding the Syrian economy and supporting small and medium enterprises.
