Syria is among the world’s top 10 pistachio-producing countries

The USDA Foreign Agricultural Service revealed that global pistachio production for the 2024-2025 season reached approximately 1.18 million metric tons, indicating the ten largest pistachio-producing countries, with the United States leading the list , while Syria ranks sixth.

The agencynoted that pistachio consumption is on the rise, with the global market size rising from $5.25 billion in 2023 to $5.51 billion in 2024.

The market is expected to continue expanding, reaching $7.32 billion by 2030.

According to data from the agency and the S-Sed platform, which specializes in food supply chains, the largest pistachio-producing countries are:

1- United States: 503.2 thousand metric tons.
2- Turkey: 385 thousand metric tons.
3- Iran: 200 thousand metric tons.
4- China: 113.4 thousand metric tons.
5- Afghanistan: 68 thousand metric tons.
6- Syria: 55 thousand metric tons.
7- Greece: 54.4 thousand metric tons.
8- Italy: 45.4 thousand metric tons.
9- Uzbekistan: 36.3 thousand metric tons.
10- Spain: 31.7 thousand metric tons.
