Syria Is a Strategic Partner that We Should Develop Our Relations with: President of South Ossetia

MOSCOW-President of South Ossetia Anatoly Bibilov underlined the need for finding a political solution to the crisis in Syria which stands in the front of countries that fight terrorism in the world, SANA reported.

“Syria is an important country in the Middle East and a strategic partner that we should develop our relations with,” President Bibilov told SANA correspondent in Moscow in an interview.

He added that Syria assumes a basic role in the fight against terrorism that poses threat to the Caucasus region and the world.

President Bibilov appreciated victories achieved by the Syrian army against terrorist organizations, hoping Syria would enjoy security and stability all over its territory.

As for Turkey’s role in the crisis in Syria, President of Ossetia affirmed that Turkey has plots towards some areas in Syria, saying that Russia always calls for respecting Syria’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.

On accusations against Syria of using chemical weapons, Bibilov said that these accusations are one of the pretexts used against Syria, and they are the same that were used against Iraq and Libya.
