Syria, Iraq sign MoUs at the conclusion of the joint committee’s meetings

Baghdad (ST)-  At the conclusion of the meetings of the joint Syrian-Iraqi committee, Syria and Iraq signed a number of memorandums of understanding (MoUs) in the fields of communications, labor, social affairs, public works, housing, and industrial property protection, in addition to an annex for scientific and technical cooperation, SANA’s correspondent in Baghdad reported.

During the meetings, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed in the field of communications between the Ministry of Communications and Technology in the Syrian Arab Republic and the Ministry of Communications in the Republic of Iraq, in addition to a memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor in Syria and its Iraqi counterpart.

A MoU was also signed in the field of public works and housing between the Ministry of Public Works and Housing in Syria and the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Public Municipalities in Iraq.

There was also signed and a MoU in the field of industrial property protection between the Ministry of Planning (the Central Organization for Standardization and Quality Control) in Iraq and the Ministry of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection in Syria. .

An annex to the scientific and technical cooperation protocol in the fields of specifications and metrology, quality control and granting certificates of conformity was also signed between the Central Organization for Standardization and Quality Control in Iraq and the Standards and Metrology Organization in Syria for the years 2024-2026.

The work of the joint Syrian-Iraqi committee in its twelfth session began in Baghdad yesterday, headed by the Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade, Dr. Muhammad Samer Al-Khalil, and the Iraqi Minister of Trade, Atheer Daoud Al-Ghurairi.
