Syria, Iraq sign MoU for cooperation in agricultural field

DAMASCUS,(ST)_Syria and Iraq signed on Thursday a Memorandum of Understanding for scientific and technical cooperation in the agricultural field with the aim of boosting cooperation in the fields of agricultural researchers and animal and plat production as well as development of rural women.
 
The MoU was signed by the Ministers of Agriculture in Syria and Iraq. 
 
The Syrian Minister of Agriculture Mohammad Hassan Qatana said that the discussion with the Iraqi side dealt with many topics including exchanging products and agricultural policies.  
 
For his part, the Iraqi Minister of Agriculture Mohammad Karim Al-Khafagi asserted the importance of enhancing cooperation in the field of scientific research,  referring to the fact that Iraq suffers from shortage of some food materials and it seeks to import them.
