Syria, Iraq Can Solve Crisis on Own – Iran Diplomat

An Iranian Foreign Ministry official says Syria and Iraq are able to resolve their own crises without any foreign interference as Takfiri ISIL militants continue to wreak havoc on both countries.

 “The Islamic Republic of Iran believes that the wise and courageous nations of Syria and Iraq, along with their elected governments, are well capable of resolving [their own] problems,” Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Consular, Parliamentary and Iranian Expatriates’ Affairs Hassan Qashqavi said on Monday.

 The Iranian official made the remarks in a meeting with visiting senior Danish diplomat, Ole EgbergMikkelsen.

Qashqavi expressed regret that the two Middle Eastern countries have been the scene of violence by terrorist groups, who seek to spread tribalism in these countries.

He further referred to the formation of the US-led coalition against the ISIL Takfiri terrorists and said any effort to counter terrorism will lead nowhere without identifying the root causes of the ominous phenomenon.

On September 12, US President Barack Obama said that the United States is assembling an international coalition with the goal to “snuff out” the ISIL terrorist group, adding that such extremist groups have “no place in the 21st century.”

The Takfiri terrorist groups have committed heinous crimes and threatened all communities.
