BAGHDAD, Sep.22, (ST)-Syria and Iraq have agreed on signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the field of health and medicine during talks held between the Iraqi Minister of Health, Hani Al-Aqabi, with the Syrian Ambassador to Baghdad, Sattam Jadaan al-Dandah.
Al-Dandah told the reporter of the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) in Baghdad: “Discussions with the Iraqi minister led to an agreement to sign a memorandum of understanding between the two ministries of health in the field of exchanging experiences in the fields of pharmaceutical manufacturing, encouraging pharmaceutical investment and establishing joint pharmaceutical projects”.
“The memorandum will also include exchanging experiences in the field of food industry, environmental health and food safety besides exchanging experiences in the field of developing and modernizing information technology systems in health systems,”Al-Dandah added.
According to a statement by the Iraqi Ministry of Health, Al-Aqabi discussed with the Syrian ambassador in Baghdad the ways of enhancing bilateral cooperation in the health field, pharmaceutical industries and health supplies, as well as exchanging experiences in the medical and health fields”.
The Iraqi minister praised the joint cooperation between the Iraqi and Syrian ministries of health, which leads to progress in medical services in both countries.
