Syria, Iranian Electric Cooperation

 

TEHRAN, (ST) – Minister of Electricity, Eng. r Imad Khamis,  and Director General of Iranian Mabna Company, Ali Abadi, discussed here means of enhancing cooperation in the domain of electric power. (Mabna Company is specialized in electric power stations in Tehran).

During  the meeting, the two sides dealt with the establishment of new plants and future projects in the field of generating electric power and maintenance of the electrical system.

The new projects include the work on the construction of a steam generating station with a capacity of 600 megawatts and implementing a farm  working by the wind power with a capacity of 50 to 100 megawatts.

The two sides also discussed the ways to ensure the necessary funding to accomplish and complete the work on Al  Swediyeh generating  plant.

Noteworthy that these talks come within the framework of the visit of the Syrian government delegation to the Iranian capital, chaired by Prime Minister, Dr. Wail Al Halaqi, to discuss ways of economic cooperation in various fields between the two countries.
