Syria, Iran to develop industrial cooperation relations

Damascus, (ST) – The Minister of Industry Ziad Sobhi Sabbagh discussed with the head of the Iranian University Jihad Foundation, Dr. Hamid Reza Tibi and his accompanying delegation, means of enhanceing and developing cooperation between the two countries in the field of developing industrial technologies and production lines.

 Tibi stressed during the meeting the desire to exchange the successful experiences of the Iranian side with the Syrian side in terms of high technologies and global competition in the field of mechanical and electrical industries and production lines.

For his part, the Minister of Industry pointed to the size and diversity of the industrial sector in Syria and the need for these technologies, especially in the fields of cement and textiles. He stressed the ministry’s readiness to cooperate in the field of environmental controls for cement factories and to expand cooperation in the future in all industrial fields in the public and private sectors.

At the conclusion of the meeting, a joint technical committee was formed, which held its first meeting this evening at the Ministry of Industry to discuss the improvement of environmental conditions in the cement factories of the ministry.
