Syria, Iran Discuss Enhancing Joint Action in Labor, Social Development, Health Care

TEHRAN, (ST)- Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Rima Qaderi and Iran’s Minister of Cooperatives, Labour, and Social Welfare Mohammad Shariatmadari discussed during a meeting on Monday in Tehran means of enhancing Syrian-Iranian action in the areas of labor, social development and healthcare services.

Qaderi affirmed the need to focus on vocational training because of its importance in creating various job opportunities in order to support the job market policy and rural development.

Qaderi added that a joint cooperation program is due to be signed during her current visit to Iran, pointing out that this program will be a practical roadmap for cooperation that opens wide prospects to boost bilateral ties and enhance coordination between Syria and Iran at regional and international forums.

 During the talks, Qaderi noted the positive impacts of cooperation relations between the two countries on the process of fighting and eliminating terrorism and on the process of recovery in preparation for reconstructing and rehabilitating what terrorism has destroyed in Syria.

She stressed the need to benefit from the expertise of the Iranian side in the different fileds of cooperation between the two ministries, particularly reactivating job market, rural development, social care and social insurance.

On his part, Shariatmadari affirmed his country’s readiness to cooperate with Syria, including with the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, and to contribute to the reconstructing of some social and development projects in the country.
