Syria, Iran discuss boosting cooperation in the industrial field 

Damascus (ST) – The Minister of Industry Abdul Qadir Jokhdar and the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Damascus Hossein Akbari on Wednesday discussed ways to develop and strengthen cooperation relations in the industrial field.
The two sides discussed cooperation in the field of engineering, petrochemical, cement, building materials industries, and joint work in industries based on knowledge and technology, in addition to cooperation in the field of scientific research to develop the industrial sector.
Jokhdar affirmed the importance of joint work to upgrade economic relations to the level of political and strategic relations between the two countries, presenting an introductory presentation on the areas of the industrial sector in Syria (public, private and craftsmanship).
For his part, ambassador Akbari stressed his country’s readiness to contribute effectively to the rehabilitation and development of industrial facilities in Syria and to develop the necessary capabilities for that.
