Syria, International Planned Parenthood Federation discuss enhancing bilateral cooperation

Damascus, (ST) – Health Minister Hassan Al-Ghabbash discussed with the Regional Director of the Arab World Region in the International Planned Parenthood Federation Fadwa Bakhda and the accompanying delegation means of enhancing cooperation in the health field.

During the meeting held at the ministry building, Al-Ghabbash referred to the repercussions of the terrorist war on Syria and its effects on the health situation and standard of living. He stressed that the ministry is working to provide health services to all citizens within the available capabilities.

Al-Ghabbash clarified that great efforts are being made to develop health services in coordination with associations and institutions to advance these services, especially in the field of vaccines and ensuring the non-spread of epidemics.

“ focus was also put on reproductive and psychological health services”, the Health Minister added.

For her part, Bakhda stressed the need to focus on the psychological and physical health services provided to women. She pointed to the importance of enhancing cooperation by setting work schedules and executive and training programs to qualify health cadres.
