Syria, Indonesia to enhance economic and trade cooperation

Tartous, (ST) –  Tartous Governor Abdel Halim Awad Khalil discussed with the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia in Syria, Wajdi Fawzy, at the governorate building today means of increasing economic and commercial cooperation.

During the meeting, the Indonesian ambassador gave a brief explanation of the Republic of Indonesia geographically and culturally. He stressed the depth of historical relations and friendship between the two countries, hoping to develop them further in the next stage.

Indonesian ambassador said in a press statement that the aim of his visit to Tartous governorate is the possibility of increasing economic and trade cooperation between the two countries.

Ambassador Fawzy discussed during his meeting with the president and members of the Tartous Chamber of Commerce and Industry at the Chamber’s headquarters means to enhance economic and commercial cooperation. He invited them to attend the Indonesia Trade Fair, which will be held on the 19th Next October in the capital, Jakarta.

In turn, the governor of Tartous said in a similar statement that these events reflect the depth of relations and friendship between the two countries, and contribute in strengthening cooperation, especially in the economic field. He pointed out that Tartous Governorate is ready to provide everything that supports and enhances these relations.

Mazen Hammad, Chairman of Tartous Chamber of Commerce and Industry also expressed in a press statement the Chamber’s keenness on the participation of a number of businessmen in the Expo Indonesia next month. He referred that during the meeting with the Indonesian ambassador, they discussed the trade exchange of some commodities.
