Syria, Indonesia Discuss Cooperation on Combating Crime, Terrorism

DAMASCUS, (ST)-Prime Minister Wael al-Haqi and the Indonesian Ambassador in Syria Joko Harianto on Sunday discussed enhancing economic, trade, cultural and agricultural ties between the two countries. The two sides focused on combating crime and terrorism and on establishing Indonesian industries in Syria.

Al-Halqi stressed the Syrian government’s keenness to boost relations with Indonesia and to open new prospects for cooperation through reactivating trade exchange and carrying out joint development and services projects.

He pointed out that the economic war and unjust siege Syria has been facing necessitated that the government should enhance contacts with friendly countries as to meet the requirements of the Syrian citizens.

The premier highly appreciated the political supportive stances of the Indonesian government towards Syria.

The Indonesian Ambassador expressed his country’s support for Syria in the confrontation of terrorism and stressed Indonesia’s willingness to enhance the economic ties between the two countries.
