Syria, ICRC Discuss Cooperation on Facilitating Access of Medical Aid to all Syrian areas

DAMASCUS, (ST)-Minister of Health Nizar Yazigi on Thursday told Dominique Steinhardt, Director of International Committee of the Red Cross’s (ICRC) Operations, that the ministry is ready to facilitate the access of medical aid to certain areas that are difficult to be reached in accordance with a clear strategy that meets citizens’ basic health needs.

During his meeting with Steinhardt, Yazigi hailed the ICRC’s efforts to enhance health services and affirmed the ministry’s keenness on cooperation with international organizations operating in the health domain in Syria as to provide health service to all citizens in all areas.

 

On his part, Steinhardt stressed the ICRC’s keenness on full coordination with the Health Ministry concerning the access of medical assistance to Syria. He expressed satisfaction over the facilitations provided by the Syrian government as to help convey the humanitarian aid to different areas in Syria including those difficult to be reached.
