Syria holds the Turkish regime responsible for the consequences of cutting off water supplies to Hasakah city

Syria condemns the crime of cutting off water supplies to the city of Hasakah and its vicinity by the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries for more than two months and holds the Turkish regime responsible for the consequences of this criminal act, the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said in a statement on twitter on Monday.

“The Turkish occupation and its mercenaries continue with their inhuman practices by cutting off water supplies to citizens in Hasakah and its vicinity. This has continued for more than two months and has caused many thirst cases among citizens, which has led to dangerous diseases,” the ministry said.

The ministry affirmed that ignoring this crime by the parties that claim to be defending human rights, including the citizens’ right to health and to have access to clean water, exposes these parties’ real agendas and double standard policies.

The failure of the United Nations and its bodies in condemning the Turkish violations put the credibility of the United Nation at stake, the ministry pointed out.
