Syria gets a seat in the General Secretariat of the World Peace Council

Last night, Syria obtained a membership seat in the General Secretariat of the World Peace Council, during the 22nd conference of the Council’s General Assembly, which is currently being held in the Vietnamese capital, Hanoi.

The General Secretariat of the Council includes 13 representatives of more than 150 members of the General Assembly of the Council, where Syria was a member of the Assembly, and its membership was upgraded to be within the General Secretariat of the Council during the conference session.

The work of the conference started two days ago with the participation of representatives of organizations and federations from more than 60 countries, including Syria represented by the National Union of Syrian Students and the Ansar al-Salam(PeaceSupporters) Movement in Syria.

The Syrian delegation was headed by Dr. Ali Barakat, Head of the External Relations Office in the Union and included Engineer Samer Al-Ayoubi, member of the National Council of the Movement.
