Syria, Germany to enhance cooperation in the field of health

The Syrian Acting Minister of Health Maher Al-Sharaa discussed with the German Minister of Economic Cooperation and Development Svenja Schulze and the accompanying delegation means of enhancing health cooperation between the two countries.

Al-Sharaa appreciated the German government’s efforts to provide assistance within the current circumstances to the Syrian people, who have suffered from a lot of oppression, displacement and pain in recent years.

He clarified that the health sector is massively destroyed and the needs are great, including rebuilding and rehabilitating hospitals in addition to providing medical supplies and training the health caders.

He stressed that the Ministry seeks to equally provide medical services to all the Syrian people.

In turn, Minister Schulze expressed Germany’s readiness to work with Syria to meet the various needs of the health sector.

She noted the efforts exerted by the transitional government in this regard.
