Syria expresses its condolences to the Iraqi government and people for the victims of the horrific fire in Nineveh

Damascus (ST): Syria expressed its sincere condolences to the Iraqi government and the Iraqi people over the heavy loss of life and injuries in the horrific fire accident that occurred in Nineveh Governorate, northern Iraq.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said in a statement: “The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Syrian Arab Republic expresses deep feelings of sorrow and sadness felt by the people of the Syrian Arab Republic, its government and its leadership regarding the heavy loss of life and injuries in the horrific fire accident that occurred in Nineveh Governorate, Northern Iraq”.

The Foreign Ministry added: “As we feel the horror of the incident that claimed many innocent lives and led to many severe injuries, we extend our sincere condolences to the Iraqi government, the brotherly Iraqi people, and the families of the victims who lost their loved ones, and we wish a speedy recovery for the wounded and injured.”

The Foreign Ministry concluded its statement by saying: “Syria has not forgotten the position of all our people in brotherly Iraq in standing by its side in everything that happened to its people, especially after the catastrophic earthquake on the sixth of last February.
