Syria Elected as President of UN Asia-Pacific Group for November

NEW YORK, (ST)- Syria has been elected as President of the UN Asia-Pacific Group  by acclamation for November.

During the group’s meeting on Tuesday, the Palestinian Permanent Representative to the United Nations Riad Mansour, whose country presides over the group for October, handed over the group’s presidency to Syria’s Permanent Representative Bashar Al-Jaafari  who received congratulations from the member states.

  The Asia-Pacific Group is one of the five regional groups adopted by the United Nations and it includes 56 member countries.
