Syria, DPRK to Strengthen Trade, Housing Cooperation

DAMASCUS, (ST) – Minister of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection Hassan Safiyeh and the Ambassador of the Democratic Peoples’ Republic of Korea Jang Myung recently discussed here ways to strengthen and develop relations of cooperation between the two countries, particularly the domestic trade and consumer protection.

The minister, during the meeting, underlined the importance of working on opening up new prospects for the economic and trade cooperation to serve the interests and issues of the two countries and enhance the resilience of the peoples in the face of the American Zionist schemes.

For his part, Mr. Myung confirmed “his country’s support to the Syrian people in the war against terrorism and its support for Syria in the official circles.” The two sides stressed the need to improve economic and trade relations to the level of political ones.

The Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Eng. Mohamed Ghazal and the Ambassador of Korea also discussed ways to strengthen relations of cooperation and exchange of expertise between the two sides in the areas of housing.

The two sides discussed the possibility to benefit from the Korean experience and expertise in the fields of engineering and construction, techniques of modern housing and environment-friendly.

The minister stressed the depth of the distinguished historical relations between the two countries and peoples, while Mr. Myung pointed to the importance of developing the distinguished bilateral relations between both countries and peoples in various areas, stressing that his country’s position will not change over the crisis in Syria.
