Syria, DPRK to Boost Scientific Cooperation

DAMASCUS, (ST) – Minister of Higher Education Dr. Malik Muhammad Ali recently discussed with the Ambassador of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea prospects of strengthening scientific cooperation in the field of higher education, scientific research and student exchanges between the two countries.

The two sides agreed to open channels of communication between stakeholders in the Ministries of Higher Education to sign a special agreement within the framework of the program of cultural cooperation between the two countries through which to identify areas of scientific cooperation between the two countries and the number of scholarships from each side and support cooperation between the Syrian and Korean universities.

The Minister of Higher Education affirmed the importance of communication between the Syrian and Korean universities, exchange of science and knowledge, joint technologies and scientific achievements in both countries, pointing to the experience of scientific cooperation between Damascus University and Kim Il Sung University to exchange experiences and scholarships.

For his part, Ambassador of the Democratic Republic of Korea stressed the importance of providing all possible support to achieve greater communication between higher education institutions in both countries.
