Syria, Cuba to enhance bilateral relations

Havana , (ST) – Cuban Deputy Prime Minister Ricardo Caprisas discussed with the  Syrian Ambassador to Cuba Dr. Idris Maya in the Cuban capital, Havana, means of enhancing and developing relations between Syria and Cuba, especially in the economic field.

During the meeting, Caprisas reiterated his country’s positions in supporting Syria.

He stressed the need to upgrade economic relations between the two countries.

 In turn, Ambassador Mia presented a set of topics related to bilateral cooperation between the two countries, pointing to the importance of enhancing and strengthening relations with Cuba.

Dr. Mia also briefed the Cuban side on the latest developments on the Syrian arena, especially the economic side, in light of the challenges arising from the unilateral coercive economic measures imposed by the United States and the European Union on Syria.
