The Baath Arab Socialist party in Syria and the Cuban Communist Party have affirmed the importance of consolidating cooperation and consultation in the light of the current circumstances and challenges.
Member of the Central Leadership of the Baath Party Dr. Mahdi Dakhlalla and Member of the General Secretariat of the Cuban Communist Party, Member of the Party’s Central Committee Jorge Luis Brucchi Lorenzo during a virtual session discussed ways to confront the challenges facing the two countries.
Lorenzo hailed the solid relation between Syria and Cuba, expressing gratitude for the support of the Baath Party and youth organizations in Syria for the struggle of the Cuban people against the criminal US blockade.
He stressed that the two countries are the target of continuous attacks and violations by world imperialism, but they will not surrender to the pressure or concede their rights, sovereignty and independence.
On his part, Dakhlalla also expressed the gratitude of the Baath Party’s leadership to Cuba for its supportive stances towards Syria at international forums and in its war against terrorism.
He reaffirmed Syria’s condemnation of the unfair siege which has been imposed on Cuba for 60 decades.
Syria’s Ambassador to Cuba Idris Mayya and the Cuban Ambassador in Damascus Miguel Porto Parga took part in the session.
