Syria, Cuba hold talks on enhancing economic relations
HAVANA, (ST)- Deputy Prime Minister of Cuba Ricardo Cabrisas and Syria’s Ambassador in Havana Idris Mayya discussed during a meeting on Friday ways of boosting economic relations between Syria and Cuba.
Cabrisas reaffirmed his country’s support for Syria, stressing the need to enhance economic cooperation between the two countries.
On his part, Mayya reviewed areas of cooperation and affirmed that the Syrian-Cuban relations are deep-rooted and they are continuously booming in different fields.
Mayya briefed the Cuban side on developments in Syria, particularly the economic situation in the light of the unilateral coercive economic measures imposed by the United States and the European Union on Syria and the open looting of Syria’s oil and other resources by Washington.
