Syria, Cuba Are Partners in Struggle against Imperialism and Hegemony Forces: Sabbagh

DAMASCUS, (ST)- Speaker of the People’s  Assembly Hammoudah al-Sabbagh has stressed that Syria and Cuba are partners in the struggle against imperialism and hegemony forces which are trying to control every independent country.

During his meeting on Saturday with member of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Cuban Communist Party, Jorge Cuevas Ramos, Sabbagh thanked Cuba over its support for the Syrian people in the confrontation of the terrorist war, stressing that the Syrian people are determined to achieve victory over all forms of terrorism.

 He affirmed the need to deepen parliamentary relations between the two countries through the Syrian-Cuban Friendship Committee and through continuous coordination at international forums.

On his part, Ramos asserted that the relation between Cuba and Syria has always been characterized by sincerity, fraternity, cooperation and alliance in the face of hegemony forces which keep targeting the two countries.

He hailed the great efforts exerted by Syria, as a people, army and leadership, in confrontation of the terrorist war.

Ramos renewed his country’s strong condemnation of any foreign interference in Syria’s internal affairs and stressed the importance of preserving Syria’s territorial integrity and independence.

“We are friends, so we share difficult times and consider that complete victory on aggressors on Syria is a victory for us and for all freedom-loving peoples.
