Syria Considers Any Attempt to Harm Its Unity as an Evident Aggression and Direct Occupation

DAMASCUS, (ST)- Syria has stressed that any attempt to harm its unity will be considered as an evident aggression and a direct occupation of its territories, a source at the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affaris and Expatriates said in a statement to SANA on Tuesday commenting on new remarks made by President of the Turkish regime Recep Tayyib Erdogan.

Such an attempt will also be considered as a Turkish bid to spread, protect and support the international terrorism which Syria has been fighting over the past eight years, the source added.

According to Sputnik, Erdogan said that he had reached  what he called a “historic understanding” with Trump in a phone talk, stressing that Ankara was set to create a so-called “safe zone” on an area of 32 kilometres in the Northern part of Syria.

The ministry’s source affirmed that Erdogan’s remarks prove that the Turkish regime knows only the language of aggression and occupation and it behaves in such a way that violates the principles and goals of the UN Charter.

“Erdogan’s remarks once again affirm that the Turkish regime is the sponsor of terrorists in Astana dialogue and it deals only with the language of aggression and occupation. It can’t be but an irresponsible regime that behaves in contradiction with the simplest principles and goals of the UN Charter, giving no heed to international resolutions that have ever affirmed the need to respect the unity of the people and lands of the Syrian Arab Republic,” the source said.

Syria reiterates that it is determined to defend its people and sacred lands, with every means possible, against any form of aggression and occupation including the Tukish occupation of the Syrian lands, the source asserted.
