Syria Congratulates Iraq on Liberation of Mosul from Daesh

DAMASCUS, (ST)- The Syrian government has congratulated the people and government of Iraq on the liberation of Mosul from Daesh terrorist organization, stressing that the Syrian army, people and government will continue its cooperation with Iraq to eliminate the rest of Daesh gangs.

An official source at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates told SANA on Monday that victory on terrorism achieved by the Iraqi army and the Hashd Shaabi forces in Mosul is victory for all who believe that eliminating Daesh terrorism is a noble victory that deserves martyrdom and sacrifices within the framework of the war on terror.

The source added that the collapse of Daesh in Mosul is a prelude to the collapse of the illusions of the terrorist groups and of those who funded, armed and sheltered the terrorists.

Syria is proud of the great sacrifices offered by the Iraqi people, army and Hashd Shaabi to achieve this great victory, said the source, expressing the Syrian government’s deep condolences to the families of the martyrs and wishing speed recovery to the injured.

Mobilizing the Syrian-Iraqi efforts is the main factor which guarantees that Daesh or any form of terrorism won’t return to the two countries or to the region.
