Syria condemns US and western flagrant interference in Nicaragua’s internal affairs

Syria has strongly condemned the flagrant US and western interference in the internal affairs of the Republic of Nicaragua, stressing its complete solidarity with the people and government of Nicaragua in the face of the American sanctions, according to an official source at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates.

In a statement to SANA on Tuesday, the source said that the US and western interference in Nicaragua’s internal affairs aim at destabilizing the country.

“The Syrian Arab Republic affirms its complete solidarity with the people and government of Nicaragua and with the leadership of President Daniel Ortega in the face of the American sanctions and  western interference. Syria also calls for abandoning all the unilateral measures that violate international law,” the source added.Last week, the United States imposed sanctions on a number of Nicaraguan officials within the framework of the pressure being practiced by Washington to impose its policies on other countries.
