Syria condemns the U.S. State Department’s false allegations on the Ghouta chemical weapons attack

Syria condemns the false allegations mentioned in the press release which has  recently been issued by the U.S. State Department on the incident of the alleged use of chemical weapons 8 years ago in the eastern Ghouta of Damascus in 2013.

A source at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said on Tuesday: “ The ministry in the Syrian Arab Republic condemns  the false allegations, which were mentioned in the U.S. State Department’s press release issued on the 21st of this month”.

It underlined that the press release  clearly reflects the unceasing aggressive approach of Washington against Syria and comes within the framework of covering its failure in Afghanistan and its support for terrorism, which Syria has been confronting.

“Once again, Syria reiterates that the US policy of supporting terrorism and the imposition of all types of coercive, inhuman and immoral sanctions must be condemned and punished,” the source added.

It pointed out that the US. State Department knows well that Syria does not have chemical weapons.

The ministry  said that Syria condemns the use of chemical weapons by anyone, anywhere, at any time.

ON July, 22, 2021, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova declared that Russia considers the inaccuracy of the report of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) was what led the organization to falsify the Technical Secretariat’s report about an alleged incident using toxic chemical substances in Douma city.

“The media outlets told former experts from the OPCW’s fact-finding mission, that the breaches in investigation in the alleged incident of using toxic chemical substances in Douma on April 7th, 2018,  were repeatedly presented to the UN Security Council and were discussed at the OPCW platform,” Zakharova said.

She added that the former experts in the technical secretariat of the OPCW, Jan Henderson and Brende Wenden, uncovered the fraud in the technical secretariat’s report on the Douma incident, despite the pressures put on them by European and Atlantic countries.

Loud voices from experts, academics, researchers, parliamentarians, journalists, former officials in the OPCW and others have emerged over time that refute what was stated in the reports and investigation teams of the Organization of fabrication and fraud.

In June,  the Irish representative in the European Parliament, Mike Wallace, called for an interrogation of the Director-General of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, following the scandal of fabrications about the alleged chemical attack in the city of Douma in Damascus countryside in 2018, and the confirmation of inspectors from within the Organization that the allegations against Syria were false.

A leak by an official in the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons revealed in March of last year the involvement of the Organization’s administration in launching a malicious and flawed attack against two veteran inspectors, who proved the incorrectness of the Organization’s story regarding the alleged attack in Douma and the accusation of the Syrian Arab Army of it to justify the US-British-French aggression against Syria at the time.
