DAMASCUS, JUL.20, (ST)- Syria has condemned the Israeli Knesset’s decision to reject the establishment of a Palestinian state, which reflects the true intentions of the Zionists and their government to establish the so-called the “Greater Israel”.
“This decision is a new blatant violation of the historical rights of the Palestinian people, and a serious undermining of all relevant UN resolutions,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said in a statement released on Saturday.
The ministry added that the decision comes within the context of the Zionist entity’s policy of depriving the Palestinians from establishing their independent state on their land with Jerusalem as its capital, and represents a contradiction with the principle of achieving just and comprehensive peace in the region, which constitutes a serious threat to security and stability there.
It asserted that Syria affirms that the brutal crimes and genocidal war committed by the Zionist entity in Gaza and the rest of the Palestinian territories are part of this entity’s plan to achieve its expansionist project.
The ministry concluded its statement by saying that Syria reiterates the right of the Palestinian people to establish an independent state on their own national land, calling on world countries and the United Nations to take a decisive stance against Israel’s policies of expansion, settlement, destruction and genocide.
