Syria Condemns Norwegian PM’s Remarks on Sending Troops to Syria Allegedly to Fight “Deash”

DAMASCUS, (ST)-Syria has condemned the Norwegian Prime Minister’s yesterday’s remarks on her country’s intention to send 60 soldiers to train what it called “Syrian fighters” allegedly to fight “Deash” terrorist organization, according to an official source at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates.

“The Norwegian government’s decision is a blatant and unacceptable interference in countries’ affairs and is a flagrant violation of states’ sovereignty, stability and security, the source said, stressing that the decision can’t be justified as being made within the framework of counterterrorism efforts as long as it is done without cooperation with the Syria government.

Syria warns that any decision the government of Norway intends to make in this regard will be a violation of international legitimacy and the UN Security Council resolutions on fighting terrorism and which calls for cooperation the source added.

The Syrian Arab Republic, the source went to say, urges the international community as well as the Norwegian and the world public opinion to stand against such irresponsible decisions that would cause more expansion of terrorism in the region and the entire world, including in the heart of European countries whose governments have adopted unbalanced policies and stances towards the crisis in Syria and towards the war on terrorism.
