Syria condemns in the strongest terms the Israeli occupation crime against civilians in the densely populated Mezzeh district in Damascus

Damascus, (ST) – Syria has strongly condemned the brutal crime committed by the Israeli occupation entity against defenseless civilians in the densely populated Mezzeh neighborhood in Damascus.

The Foreign Ministry said in a statement: In its persistence in its violations of international law, the Israeli occupation entity launched an air aggression last night with three missiles from the direction of the occupied Syrian Golan on a residential building in the densely populated Mezzeh neighborhood in Damascus.

“This criminal aggression led, in an initial toll, to the martyrdom of seven civilians, including children and women, and the injury of eleven others, in addition to causing significant material damage to private property in the surrounding area”, the ministry added.

The Foreign Ministry also said: Syria condemns in the strongest terms this brutal crime against defenseless civilians, which constitutes an extension of the genocidal crimes committed by this usurping entity against the Palestinians and the Lebanese.

The ministry stressed the need to take immediate measures to deter this entity from continuing its criminal approach based on spreading death, shedding the blood of innocents, causing  destruction and chaos in the region, and seeking to drag it into a confrontation that will have disastrous consequences.
