Syria Condemns Coward Terrorist Attack against St. Petersburg Metro Stations

DAMASCUS, (ST)-Syria has condemned in the strongest terms the coward terrorist attack which targeted  two metro stations in the Russian city of St. Petersburg, expressing deep sympathy and solidarity with the leadership, government and people of Russia, according to a source at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates.

 “The Syrian Arab Republic condemns in the strongest terms the coward terrorist attack which hit two metro stations in St. Petersburg city on Monday, killing and wounding scores of civilians,” the source said in a statement to SANA.

“The Syrian Arab Republic expresses its full sympathy and solidarity with Russia, leadership, government and people, and extends its deep condolences to the families of the innocent victims,” the source added.

At least 10 people were killed and 50 others were wounded in the twin explosion in two metro stations, a preliminary toll showed.

People’s Assembly: Terrorist Blasts Mirror Terrorist Ideology of al-Qaeda, Daesh and Jabhat al-Nusra

The Syrian People’s Assembly (PA) also issued a statement condemning the St. Petersburg’s blasts, expressing deep sympathy with the friendly Russian people and government and extending deep condolences to the families of the victims.

“These heinous acts mirror the terrorist ideology of al-Qaeda, Daesh and Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist organizations which have been adopting the same barbaric behavior against the Syrian people.” the PA stressed in the statement.

It urged all countries, without exceptions, to fight cross-border terrorism, to confront the terrorist takfiri ideology  and to hold the parties sponsoring and supporting the terrorist organizations accountable.
