Syria, China to develop trade exchange

Damascus, (ST) – Minister of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection Mohsen Abdel Karim Ali discussed with the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China in Damascus Shi Hongwei the prospects for developing economic cooperation and trade exchange between the two countries.

Minister Ali stressed Syria’s keenness to enhance trade exchange with the People’s Republic of China to confront the repercussions of terrorism, the unjust economic blockade, and the effects of the earthquake that struck Syria last February.

He called for increasing the grants for training Syrian cadres in China.

In turn, the Chinese ambassador stressed his country’s keenness to develop economic relations with Syria to reach the level of political relations in a way that ensures the achievement of common interests for both sides, especially in the light of the current circumstances in Syria caused by the war and the unjust siege imposed by the West.
