Syria, China to cooperate in various fields

Damascus, (ST) – Prime Minister  Mohammad Ghazi Al-Jalali on Wednesday received a message from the Premier of the People’s Republic of China Li Keqiang in which he expressed his country’s interest in developing bilateral relations and its keenness to implement the agreements signed between the two countries and deepen cooperation in all fields, in order to achieve a new and continuous development of the strategic partnership relations between the two friendly countries.

The message of the Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China stated: China and Syria are linked by a solid historical friendship, and bilateral relations have achieved distinguished development in recent years under the joint leadership and care of President Xi Jinping and President Bashar Al-Assad, and the Chinese government is keen to make joint efforts with the Syrian government to implement the important agreements between the two presidents and exchange support with all firmness.

Dr. Al-Jalali, while receiving the message from the Chinese Ambassador in Damascus stressed the depth of the strategic relations that link the two friendly countries and peoples, and the Syrian government’s keenness and aspiration to develop and enhance joint cooperation in various fields, including the participation of Chinese companies in the reconstruction of Syria.

He pointed out the importance of mutual support for the positions of the two countries and their just causes, adherence to their sovereignty and territorial integrity, and rejection of foreign interference in their internal affairs.
