Syria, China Discuss Economic, Trade Cooperation

DAMASCUS, (ST)- Syria and China on Sunday discussed the need to invest the strong historical and strategic ties between the two countries through enhancing economic and trade cooperation, boosting bilateral political relations for the good of the peoples of both countries and reactivating the investments of the Chinese companies in the reconstruction process in Syria.

 During his meeting today with China’s Ambassador in Damascus Wang Kejian, Prime Minister Imad Khamis, on behalf of the Syria government, thanked China for its constant support for Syria in the face of the terrorist war through its pro-Syria political stances at international forums and through its humanitarian and economic efforts. He also expressed the Syrian government’s appreciation for the Chinese ambassador’s efforts to consolidate the Syrian-Chinese relations.

On his part, Kejian, on behalf of the Chinese prime minister, congratulated Khamis on becoming the prime minster of Syria, expressing confidence that the Syrian government’s efforts will succeed in boosting bilateral ties.

He expressed the Chinese government’s appreciation over the facilitations being provided by the Syrian government to the Chinese companies and friendly countries to help them take part in Syria’s reconstruction process.
