BRAZILIA, (ST) _ A new board of directors was recently elected for the Arab- Brazilian Chamber of Commerce for the next two years. Marcelo Nabih Salloum was elected as chairman of the Board of Directors ,Michelle Halabi as Secretary-General and Rubens Hannoun as vice president marketing sector. All of the elected figures are members of the Syrian community in Brazil.
The Chamber ‘s former chairman Salim Tawfiq Shahin , who is also of Syrian origin reviewed the chamber ‘s activities, noted the efforts resulted in boosting Arab-Brazilian relations, strengthening bilateral friendship, cultural and tourism ties and doubling the volume of trade exchange between the two sides.
The elected chairman, vowed to continue efforts for boosting the existing relations between Brazil and the Arab countries, especially with Syria and improving them according to new frameworks that serve commercial, cultural and tourism, cooperation. He stressed that Brazil is a friend country to the fair Arab issues and always contributes to the development of existing relations , noting Brazil ‘s shared heritage with the Arab legacy and values.
