Syria celebrates Navy Day

LATTAKIA, (ST)- Under the Patronage of President Bashar Al-Assad, the Commander in Chief of the Army and Armed Forces, a ceremony was held to celebrate the graduation of a new batch of the Naval Academy cadets marking the 72 anniversary of Syria’s Navy Day.

A military parade and a naval show for the Syrian vessels was held on this occasion.

Speeches during the ceremony stressed the need to exert more efforts to enhance knowledge and expertise and keep updated with all scientific developments.

Director of the Naval Academy said that the cadets have achieved the first step in their military career, reiterating that they will always be ready to implement their tasks in defending the pride and independence of the homeland and in protecting the country’s shores against any threats.

At the end of the ceremony, the graduates took the military oath and received their graduation certificates.
