Syria calls on Turkish government to cease violations of its sovereignty

Damascus – Syria called on the Turkish government to cease its violations of Syria’s sovereignty and respect international law.

A source at the Foreign and Expatriates Ministry said that the Turkish artillery on Monday opened fire at Atira village in the northern countryside of Lattakia, inuring civilians, SANA reported.

The Syrian government considers this a “blatant breach of international law and a crime against the Syrian civilians,” the source said, demanding that Turkey cease these violations and respect international law.

The source concluded by stressing that the Syrian government reserves the right to hit back at this heinous crime by all available means.
