GENEVA, Jan.25, (ST)-Syria renewed on Tuesday its call for the immediate removal of unilateral coercive economic measures that target the Venezuelan people and violate their human rights, including the right to life, health, food and development.
“We call for putting an end to the US intervention in Venezuela’s domestic affairs, respect its sovereignty, national unity and choices of its people,” Syria’s permanent representative to the UN in Geneva, Ambassador Hussam Al-Din Alaa, said in a statement at the session of Human Rights Council on reviewing national report of Venezuela Republic on the situation of human rights in the framework of the periodic review mechanism, according to the Syrian News Arab Agency (SANA).
The ambassador affirmed the importance of the policies which have been adopted by the Venezuelan government to confront the economic war and to boost mechanisms of social protection .
