Syria, Bulgaria To Activate Economic Cooperation

DAMASCUS – The Board of Directors of Damascus Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday discussed here on Tuesday  with a delegation representing the Bulgarian-Syrian Chamber of Commerce means of activating economic cooperation between the two countries.

The head of the Board of Directors of the Damascus Chamber of Commerce, Mohammed Ghassan Al-Qalaa pointed out the need to activate trade and economic relations and restore them as they were previously and to expand Bulgaria’s participation in the next session of Damascus International Fair.

Mr. Al-Qalaa called on concluding pacts, commercial and investment deals between businessmen in both countries in addition to the development of Syrian-Bulgarian companies working in the field of dairy products and to benefit from the Bulgarian experience.

For his part, the head of the Bulgarian-Syrian Chamber of Commerce Professor Todor Tivanov stressed the importance of creating a joint Syrian-Bulgarian business council to enhance cooperation between Syrian-Bulgarian companies and benefit from trade and investment opportunities, exchange of information and visits and the development of economic and commercial cooperation between the two countries.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Chairman of the Bulgarian-Syrian Chamber of Commerce Krasimir Anglov and the Commercial Attaché of the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Damascus Mikhail Argatsky and a number of the Chamber’s Board members.
