Syria: Britain’s Decision to Blacklist Hizbollah Proves Its Historic Hostility towards the Arab Nation
DAMASCUS, (ST)- Syria has strongly condemned the British government’s decision to blacklist Hizbollah Lebanese resistance movement, pointing out that this decision affirms Britain’s historic hostility towards the Arab nation.
An official source at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said in a statement to SANA on Friday that the decision reflects Britain’s historic hostility against the Arab nation, given the fact that Britain is the godfather of the Arab homeland’s division through Sykes–Picot agreement and is the architect of the ill-famed Balfour Declaration which led to the usurpation of Palestine by the Zionists and caused the displacement of millions of Palestinians.
The source added that Britain has always been a main partner in all forms of aggressions launched against the Arab nation since the tripartite aggression on Egypt till the tripartite aggression launched on Syria in April 2018 which confirmed the British government’s subordination to the American scheme in the region.
“It is well-known to all that Britain hosts different takfiri extremist organizations and it has been providing all forms of terrorist organizations to serve the Israeli agenda against the region,” the source said.
It added that “Any party that adopts such policies lacks the minimum level of credibility and it doesn’t have the right to accuse others, particularly Hizbollah, which is a national resistance movement against the Israeli occupation, and whose legitimacy is guaranteed in accordance with the International Law and the UN Charter.
Hezbollah: Terrorism supporters have no right to accuse resistance movements of being terrorists
Meantime, Hezbollah lashed out at UK over its decision to blacklist the Lebanese resistance group, stressing that the move indicates London’s “servile obedience” to the US, according to al-Manar TV.
In a statement released by the group’s Media Relations Office, Hezbollah stressed that it is a resistance group against the Israeli occupation, and that “any state which embraces, funds and supports terrorism has no right to accuse Hezbollah or any other resistance group of being terrorist.”
The decision indicates that the “UK government is not but a subordinate that serves the American master,” Hezbollah said, noting that London, through this decision, antagonizes the people of the region in a bid to please Washington.
“Terrorism accusations fabricated by the UK government won’t deceive the free people across the world,” the statement said.
Hezbollah also said that the free people in the UK “knows very well who created terrorism in our region, and who funded, supported and covered crimes committed in Syria, Iraq and Yemen,” referring to US and its “international and regional tools.”
The UK decision is an “insult to the feelings, sympathies and will of the Lebanese people that consider Hezbollah a major political and popular force represented in the Lebanese parliament and cabinet,” the statement added.
Hezbollah concluded the statement by stressing that nothing will prevent the Lebanese resistance group – who have confronted both Israeli aggression and the Takfiri terrorism- from going ahead with defending Lebanon, its freedom and independence.
