DAMASCUS, (ST)- Industry Minister Kamal Eddin Tomah and the Ambassador of Belarus in Damascus Alexander Ponomarev recently discussed here ways to strengthen relations of industrial cooperation between the two countries and the establishment of joint ventures, particularly with regard to the contribution of companies of Belarus in the process of reconstruction and operating the stalled industrial installations and equipping them with machinery and raw materials.
The minister pointed to the possibility of making use of technical development in Belarus in the field of engineering industries as well as the establishment of a laboratory for the mold industry, calling Belarusian companies to take advantage of investment opportunities in the industrial field in Syria, activate the work of the Joint commission between the two countries, expand projects of industrial cooperation and to provide the necessary financing through loans or lines of credit.
For his part, Mr. Ponomarev pointed to the importance of re-activating the topics of joint cooperation between the two countries, especially in the industrial field, including the establishment of a factory for assembling cars and trucks as well as the transfer of technological development to enable Syria and Syrian companies from returning to production.
He stressed that the Belarusian experts and companies have the wil to come to Syria and work and contribute to strengthening the capacity of the Syrian economy and the Syrian industry and provide the needs of technology and finance.
