Syria beats Lebanon in 2022 WAFF U-16 Championship

The Syrian U-16 football team on Friday won over its Lebanese counterpart in its second match within the 2022 WAFF U-16 Championship currently held in Jordan.

Abdullah Batal score the goal for the Syrian team 18 minutes after the match began.

The win places the Syrian team at the top of its group with 6 points followed by the Kuwaiti and Lebanese teams, which each has 3 points, and then the Palestinian team with 0 points.

The Syrian team opened the championship with an important victory over its Palestinian counterpart and it will play with the Kuwaiti team next Sunday.

The top two teams of the two participating groups are to qualify for the semi finals. Winners will play in the final match on June 30.
