Syria beat Trinidad & Tobago in Chess Olympiad

DAMASCUS,(ST) – The men’s national chess team, who are currently taking part in the 41st Chess Olympiad in Norway, have deservedly beaten Trinidad and Tobago 3.5-0.5.

 

It is to be noted that the national side defeated the Islands of the Netherland Antilles, Thailand and Ethiopia in the 2nd, 4th& 7th rounds while they lost to India, Colombia, Faroe Islands and Kyrgyzstan in the 1st,3rd,5th and 6th rounds.

Hasan Omrani beat Adrian Winter from Ethiopia .Khalid Akhras beat Sing from Ethiopia. Ward Tarboush also defeated Mario from Ethiopia While Basheer Eiti drew with Harper.

Syria will meet Zambia in the 9th round.
