SWEIDA, (ST)- Under the title; “Syria, the Beacon of Nationalism and Fraternity, The General Union of women in Sweida branch has recently organized a meeting on scholars’ key role in putting an end to our homeland’s current crisis.
The meeting, which was organized with the participation of political, educational, social and religious parties, concentrated on the role scholars must play in safeguarding the homeland through consolidating national unity and calling for adopting dialogue.
During the meeting, Skeikh Akel the Moslem al-Muwahhideen al-Duruz in Syria Youssef Jarboua said that the only way out of current crisis is through adopting the language of logic and dialogue, giving priority to conducting a comprehensive national dialogue between the various parties in Syria, asserting that the solution of the crisis must be a Syrian one.
He urged the Syrian people to combat the foreign conspiracy, hatched against Syria by the forces of aggression, terrorism and devil, through keeping adherent to national unity and the principles of tolerance.
”The conspiracy in Syria aims at destroying our country through targeting its infrastructure, economy, social cohesion and territorial integrity.” Skeikh Jarbuoa reiterated, calling on our people to keep united in confronting the current crisis.
He also referred to the role scholars must play in disseminating the values of love, fraternity, tolerance and coexistence, expressing full rejection for certain calls that aimed at arming terrorists.
For his part, the Bishop of Horan, Golan and jabal al-Arab for the Roman Orthodox Saba Esber asserted the importance of working hand in hand to consolidate the values of tolerance and forgiveness among the people of the homeland. He also called for enhncing coexistence among the country’s various sects.
The Bishop urged adherence to national unity and dialogue as the only way out of the crisis, reiterating that what is currently taking place in Syria is part of a foreign hostile campaign aiming at fomenting sedition and conflict in the country to serve certain foreign agendas.
He also called for combating terrorism, fanaticism and extremism through encouraging dialogue and rejecting foreign concepts
The bishop concluded his statement by calling for a prayer for Syria, asserting the country’s role as the torch of civilization throughout history.
The meeting was attended by Sweida Governor Atef Naddaf and other religious, educational and social concerned parties.
