Syria, Bahrain stress Arab unity to face common challenges

New York, (ST) – The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Dr. Faisal Al-Miqdad, discussed on Wednesday with his Bahraini Counterpart Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani, the latest developments in the region and means of enhancing bilateral relations between the two countries in various fields.

On the sidelines of their participation in the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly, the two ministers stressed the importance of Arab unity and the need to overcome divisions and differences to face the challenges facing Arab countries.

In this context, Minister Miqdad made it clear that the priority for Syria is working on developing Arab-Arab relations and strengthening joint Arab action.

For his part, Minister Al-Zayani pointed to the importance of cooperation and building bridges with brothers and friends. He stressed Bahrain’s support for Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and the restoration of security and stability in full.

The two ministers also agreed to continue meetings and contacts between officials of the two countries.
