Syria at the meeting of the United Nations Charter Defense Group: America’s hostility is economic terrorism

With the participation of Syria, the first meeting of the national coordinators of the Group of Friends of the Defense of the United Nations Charter was held today in the Iranian capital, Tehran

The meeting comes in implementation of the decisions of the ministerial meeting of the group held in New York last September on the sidelines of the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

The meeting focused on coordinating and strengthening joint action to advance the principles of the United Nations Charter and to confront the hegemonic and unilateral policies pursued by the United States of America and its Western allies

Syria was represented in the meeting by Minister Counselor at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Qusai Al-Dahak, who delivered a statement in which he pointed out that the present challenges resulting from the hostile policies of the United States of America and its allies represent economic terrorism that has catastrophic effects on the lives of the peoples of a number of countries of this group

Al-Dahak called on the national coordinators to exchange ideas, develop proposals and identify areas of work, in a way that supports the group’s efforts to address violations of the charter.

Al-Dahhak affirmed Syria’s full support for Iran in the face of aggressive Western policies and its attempts to destabilize Iran’s security and stability.

The group includes 19 countries: Syria, Russia, Algeria, Angola, Belarus, Bolivia, Cambodia, China, Cuba, DPRK, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Iran, Laos, Nicaragua, Palestine, Saint Vincent Grenadines, Venezuela and Zimbabwe.
