Minister of Transport Ya’rob Badr met with the Chargé d’Affaires of the Pakistani Embassy in Syria Omar Hayat Khan to discuss ways to develop work mechanisms in the field of transport and enhance cooperation relations, in a way that serves the interests of the Syrian and Pakistani peoples.
During the meeting, which took place at the ministry’s building in Damascus, the two sides discussed ways to activate joint agreements and expand cooperation in all areas of transport, which would positively reflect on boosting trade and economic movement.
Minister Badr reviewed the state of the transport sector in Syria and what it needs in terms of rehabilitation and development, especially the road and rail transport.
He pointed out that the transport sector is the backbone of economy in every country, and there must be cooperation with all friendly countries to restore it.
For his part, the Pakistani diplomat reaffirmed his country’s supportive stance towards Syria, emphasizing the necessity of supporting and enhancing relations between transport institutions, resuming air travel. He stressed the importance of activating trade and economic movement to serve the aspirations of both friendly peoples.
